Hosting and infrastructure,
handled properly.
The technical side of a website is where most small business owners get stuck: registrars, renewals, DNS records, certificates and servers. I take all of it on, set it up properly and keep it secure, so nothing lapses because a renewal notice went to an inbox nobody checks.
The short version. Domains, DNS, certificates, servers and deployments handled for you. Set up as a quoted project, then looked after as monthly care if you want it. Your domain stays yours.
What I take care of
- Domains. I register a new one or take over the one you already have, and keep it renewed.
- DNS. The records that point your domain at your website, set up correctly and kept that way.
- Certificates. The padlock in the browser bar. Every site runs on HTTPS and the certificate renews itself, so visitors never see a security warning.
- Servers and deployments. Your site runs on a server I manage, kept up to date and patched. Changes go out through a deployment that is checked, not by someone editing live files.
- Security hardening. Firewalls, rate limits, and blocking for the bots and scanners that hammer every small business site.
- Monitoring. Uptime and certificates watched, so problems get caught early.
- Migrations. Moving a site from another host, with redirects in place so your address and your search history carry over.
The domain is yours
Some web companies keep your domain in their own account, so leaving them means losing your address. I do not work that way. Your domain is yours. If you ever move on, it is transferred to you.
How pricing works
Setting things up or moving you over is quoted as a project. Keeping it running afterwards is quoted as ongoing care, sized to what you actually run. There is no minimum term.
Common questions
I already have a domain. Can I keep it?
Yes. I take over the one you have and point it at your site. Your address does not change.
Do I need my own hosting account?
No. If I host your site, it runs on a server I look after.
What happens if I leave?
Your domain is transferred to you and you get your site files. If you are moving to another developer, I will help them rather than make it difficult.
See it in practice
I host and look after both sites in my selected work: H-Town Auto Buyers and Richie's Pool & Patio.
